I grew up with his stories when i moved to nova Scotia and my grandpa gave me one of his books to read bc i had nothing else to read on a stormy night and that day fowaed i been reading his books ever since my favorite author of all time and will be till i die love in the us and i go back home to nova Scotia to get .ore of his books

To the Haines Family - I had the pleasure of meeting Max at a booking signing session in 1992. My husband read all his articles in the Toronto Sun. You have many precious memories to help get you through the days ahead. Take care.

Not only did I read Max's columns and books, I also had the pleasure of working for him in the early 80's. Max was exactly as described. A very nice man with a wicked sense of humour. My sympathies to the Haines family.

To: The Haines Family,

I never knew Mr. Haines except through his columns in the Toronto Sun, his books and enjoying playing the Haines Murder Games, but his writing skills were well seen as was his humour.

I extend to you all my deepest sympathy, and I hope you will comforted by both the knowledge that he is at peace now and that he is in the hands of God.

I enjoyed Mr. Haines' columns. Rest in peace, sir!

Loved reading his crime stories sorry for your loss

Dear Haines family.
My family and I enjoyed reading Max's column over the years. We read all of his books as well. We are profoundly sorry for your loss.
Take comfort in knowing that Max 'left his mark'.
