Max Justice passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 31, 2020. If ever someone lived up to the expression "larger than life," it was him. Max would have been 75 on Feb. 11.Max never missed one of his kids' ballgames, and he never slighted a client. At Christmas, he'd make everyone watch "Christmas...

Not sure what to say?

Amazing legend of a good man and good lawyer. Lifting prayers for his family.

You were always one of my favorite cousins to be around .

Max, I was so sorry to hear this news when it first happened. You were the best all around guy and an awesome attorney. I’m glad we were friends. I worked with Eddie Poe and Josephine Hicks who were awesome attorneys too. RIP my friend. I’ve been praying for your family for God to give them peace and comfort. ✝

Max was a dear friend at UNC and a classmate at WFU Law. A great guy and a great lawyer. He will be missed.

I read about Max's passing in the recent North Carolina Bar newsletter. We were both the same age, and both environmental law practitioners. We had many, many matters together over the decades. I fully trusted him when we were on the same side...I trusted him even more when were opposing each other. A class act, fine lawyer, and a gentleman. He will be missed.

I didn't know about Max's passing until I read about it this morning in a neighbor's hand-me-down Observer. Although I had no recent contact with Max I remember with fondness our many encounters during our early law practices, friendly and adversarial. We had a long-standing bet about which of us would hang on to our VW Beetles longer. (I won, still drive mine.) I appreciate the family's sharing of some undoubtedly painful, personal details of his last days. Max, I'll miss you.

I'm sorry for your loss. I too graduated from UNC, class of 1967, and I too sold Southwestern Dictionaries one summer, and I too am a lawyer (I practice in Statesville), and I too am Baptist with a strong Christian faith. No man is an island. I'm sure Max and I would have been good friends had our paths crossed more frequently.

I am so sorry to hear about Max's passing. He was one of my favorites during my 10 years at Parker Poe. I am very sorry for this great loss. Keeping Max's family in my thoughts and prays. May God's peace surround you all. Rest in peace Max.
