Dear Marjorie:
I am so sorry for your loss and pray that the Lord give you strength and comfort at this time and eventually joy in knowing that you and all of us were blessed to be a part of Max's life. I'm sorry I couldn't be at the funeral mass for Max as I had been out of the country from September 8th until this past Saturday (Oct. 10th).
I will pray for his departed soul in the hope that he is now enjoying finally knowing our Lord face to face.

I met Max in 1946 at Augusta Military Academy and have never forgotten his beautiful music or his delightful personality. His achievements are not surprising and he will rest in the highest esteem of those who have had the privilege of knowing him.
