Max brought laughter to our IPA Board meetings with his dry, unpredictable humor. He had the gift of saying much, with a few confounding deliberate words; orchestrated in perfect time. He brought poems and writing to share with all. He will be missed.

My sincere sympathy to Max's family. I had the honor of spending many hours with Max in building the Midwest Writing Center into the nonprofit organization it is today. Max was our leader and cheerleader. There were so many great people willing to volunteer their time, talent, and treasure to give our community the resource MWC has become.
