Not sure what to say?

Gone but not forgotten. Appreciated forever.

I just saw this obituary and wanted to send condolences to the family of Max. I was privileged to work with him at KFYO for several years during the 1960´s. I served as news director and answered to Gordon Thompson. Don Opheim and Big Ed Wilkes were also staff members along with Bud Andrews. I left Lubbock in the 1970´s and moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where I remain today in the city of Frisco where retired. I just reached my 85th birthday this week. I have many great memories of my...

RIP Max. You were a humble and gentle soul. Rest in peace in the arms of our Lord. JLRodriguez KFYO 1984-1986

I met Max when I was hired at KFYO about 1980. He taught me a lot about news but more about life in general! When I had car trouble he was always there to help! He loved Mexican food and a good cup of coffee! I have thought about him often! He was like my radio station dad! Love ya Max! RIP

The obituary of Max Mott concluded that his memory would be carried on by members of his family, and that certainly includes those of us who were part of the KFYO family back in the 1960s and '70s.

Max was a great newsman, and an even greater person. God's Blessings to his friends and family.

Max was my neighbor for over 38 years. What a kind and gentle soul. May God welcome him into his kingdom in Heaven with open arms!
Barbara and Family, Ronnie and I are out of town. We are so very sad that we will
Not be there to honor Max. Please know our prayers are for God to give you comfort at this difficult time.
