Marilyn

My Uncle Max was a great story teller and he had many interests. I think he was interested in just about everything. He had a curiosity that lead him to uncover all sorts of interesting (and sometimes trivial) facts. He was able to pull facts and ideas together into a coherent whole. He made me think. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. In our thoughts and prayers, Love Belinda and Mike

Max was a great friend and colleague during our years at the Sacramento Bee,usually poking fun at management He was kind and generous to me -- a great raconteur who seemingly knew everything about everything -- could recite the most amazing facts that nobody else ever seemed to know. I always looked forward to visits with him when I returned to the US.

Max was the best brother and friend you could ever have, honest, caring and loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and other family
members along with the love of country.
Max, we love you, Tom and Jane

Uncle Max taught me so much about the world and showed me what it meant to be an active participant in life. I love you Uncle Max and miss you dearly.

To Max! A great man. They don't make em like that anymore. :)

My father was a man of great valor, honesty, patriotism, intelligence and passion. I am so proud to be his daughter. I miss him so much.
