Not sure what to say?

I wrote a story about how Dr. Sobel impacted my life: https://sibsforever.medium.com/an-ode-to-a-special-teacher-71e557fd235f

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Sobel. I had him for a statistics class @ MSC over 30 years ago and it's one of the very few classes I remember, thanks to the Professor. I hate math but boy I loved that class, never cut it, loved how he loved teaching it. He was the epitome of an awesome teacher. Much sympathy.

I was sorry to recently hear of your father's death, Harry. He was always warm, welcoming, and engaged, a lovely smile on his face. Ross and I send condolences to you, Elliot, and all of your family.
I want to thank you, too, for your words after my mother's death. The kind expressions of sympathy have been comforting. I hope the same is true for you.
Best,
Eileen

One of the great privileges of attending College High School was having Dr. Sobel as a teacher. He inspired in me a love of math and algebra that I've retained to this day.

Having been fortunate to have been a student of Dr. Sobel's while at College High, I can say he made an indelible impression on me that has lasted this lifetime. Dr. Sobel was remarkable in so many ways. I know he will be missed enormously.

Dr. Sobel was an inspiration to generations of math teachers. His Algebra book was my "bible" when I was teaching in Leonia and the signed copy he gave me is one of my most prized possessions.
My heartfelt condolences to his family and to the math community.

Max Sobel was a wonderful human being and mathematics educator. I am so grateful for his encouragement over the years. He will be missed. My condolences to his family. Peace and love.

To have Max Sobel as a colleague and friend was a treasured gift. His wisdom, his teaching, his writings, and his leadership influenced mathematics teachers and the profession positively over the decades.

Despite Terry Lister's confession, I still claim title to being Dr. Sobel's worst student. But that's ok. So much more important to have been his friend and to have experienced Dr. and Mrs. Sobel's kindnesses during my frequent visits to their home while a classmate of their son Harry.
