During my 30 year career with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) I was often assigned to meet the DPS airplane piloted by Max Westerman upon its arrival in Dallas. My job was to provide ground transportation for the passengers including the DPS Director and/or high ranking officials who usually caused me to feel good just being in their presence.
However, Max Westerman always brightened my day with a friendly smile and a warm and personal handshake. I consider it a great honor...
