Not sure what to say?

This is a from a card sent to Marcella L. Bass(sister of Maxine) from their cousin Audrey. This is best expressed how they feel.
Just as the sun will set then rise with each and every dawn, the souls of those who lived life will eternally live on...Now that the sun has seemed to set on one so very dear, please know a soul who lived so well remains forever near.

In times like these there is a comfort one finds in the peace of the love of God. I pray that this peace and love sustains and comforts all of us.
The Rev. Dr. T. Allen Bethel, Maranatha Church, Portland, OR

I worked with Maxine many years at the Department of Public Welfare in Springfield. Maxine was a beautiful person inside and out. I retired in 2002 I know Maxine retired before I did. I live nearby on Abbott St. I don't know if you remember me Ken but my name is Carol A. Galletti and I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to you; your daughter Marla and her two children. Maxine always was so proud of her family. My husband met Maxine once when we picked her up to bring her to a wake,...

Our deepest condolences to the Allen/Burnett/Miller/Graves family. Mommas was a kind and gentle woman, and the memory that stands out the most is how great she was at hosting her granddaughters halloween parties...happy memories I could never forget. We will miss you dearly.

Our deepest sympathy to Kenneth, Marla, Mari and Myles. We know how wonderful Maxine was, and how much she will be missed. We have appreciated the many stories (and amusing ones!) that Lazzeri has told us about their long and very close friendship. Eric and Trevor want to send a special sympathy to Myles, remembering the many times they all got together to share an afternoon when the boys were visiting Lazzeri, going to Friendly's and even the Bronx Zoo! Eric especially remembers Maxine, who,...

Sincere sympathy to Ken, Marla, Mari and all the family of Maxine. I know she will be greatly missed. I met the family in the early 1960's when I lived on Willard Avenue. I remember Maxine and Marla walking by and at one time she was my hairdresser. A fine woman and a fine family. I will miss talking to Maxine. Family, be comforted, she is at peace, no more suffering, no more pain, no more in and out of the hospital. May her soul rest in peace and may light perpetual shine on her.

I love you so much Mommas

Maxine was a wonderful, honest, and true friend for many, many years to my mother, Julia, and a terrific babysitter to me as a child. She had a great laugh, kind heart, and the softest cheeks! Her love of family was evident in her every action. She will be truly missed and forever loved.
