Woodard Funeral Services - Wynne Obituary

Maxine (Mac, as she was often called by family & friends), was born in Whitehall, Arkansas a small town in NE Arkansas nestled between the small towns of Harrisburg and Cherry Valley.

Maxine was the youngest child of Willie (Will) & Corrine Harrison Wynne Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight sibling, Eve, Ramona, J.D. Richard Ellis Sr., Cleveland, Sr. Willie Jr., Naomi, and Louise.

Maxine grew up in a loving, Christian home environment...and she, herself accepted Christ, becoming a Christian. She attended elementary /secondary schools in Whitehall, Harrisburg, Jonesboro & Marked Tree - graduating from High School in 1960. She went on to Higher Education; attending Shorter Jr. College in North Little Rock and Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. She later went on to receive her master's degree in elementary counseling from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

While attending Shorter Jr. College in North Little Rock; Maxine met and fell in love with a fellow student, Dell Chambers. Maxine and Dell married and from their union, God blessed them with a son, Anthony "Tony" Chambers.

Later Maxine and Dell would end their marriage, but the Blessin of their marital relationship remains in their son, Anthony, his loving wife, Wanda and their son, Austin (Maxine's grandson). Anthony, Wanda, and Austin are the evidence and testament of Maxine's abundant life.

Maxine loved books and writing, after receiving her bachelor's degree in education, she went on to become a Public School Teacher and taught Elementary Education in Wynne and Earle Arkansas. She was a gifted Teacher who loved being and educator and cherished by her "children" (students). Maxine eventually retired from teaching, motivated by the need to care for her aging parents. She was privilege to serve as Caregiver to her parents.

In later years, following the deaths of both parents, Maxine spent time researching and writing, she had hoped to publish her writings, however, this goal eluded her due to circumstance beyond her control.

By the Grace and Promise of God, Maxine Denise Wynne Chambers lived and abundant life. Friends and family loved her and were amazed with her abilities to influence the early lives of hundreds of Children through Public Education.

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7 NIV
