Maxine Frances Morris Conley, 94, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2008, at the Kingswood Health Center in Kansas City, Mo. She was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Alameda, Calif. Raised in the San Francisco Bay area, Maxine graduated from high school and began her working career with Eastman Kodak in San Francisco. She was with them for more than 20 years. While at Kodak, Maxine met her future husband, Hall Conley. They were married on Dec. 15, 1951. During their marriage she resided in Marin County Calif., Pittsford NY and Marietta Ga. Maxine then moved to Kansas City in 2000. A beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, Maxine was dedicated to her family and devoted to her faith. She will be remembered by all for her warmth, intelligence, good humor and strength. Preceded in death by her husband, Hall, and her sister, Margaret C. Morris, Maxine is survived by stepson, Michael (Nancy) Conley of Austin, Texas; daughters, Claire Conley of Chicago and Karen (Richard McTygue) Conley of Kansas City; grandchildren, Sean Conley, Cathleen (Will) McBurney and Anna McTygue; great-granddaughters, Meghan and Molly McBurney and sister-in-law, Jean Conley Heffner. The family would especially like to thank the staff at Kingswood Health Center for their care and kindness over the course of Maxine's residence there, especially in this last year of her life. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Kansas City. Burial will follow at a later date in Andrews, North Carolina. Fond memories and condolences for the family may be left at www.muehlebachchapel.com.
