FROWNFELTER , Maxine M. - Of Flint, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 12:30PM Saturday December 13, 2003 at Riverside Tabernacle, 429 North Chavez Drive in Flint, Pastor Thomas Mattiuzzo officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to Riverside Tabernacle Memorial Fund. Visitation 6-8PM Thursday and 1-4 and 6-8PM Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Frownfelter will be at the church from 12Noon until the time of the service on Saturday. She was born in Flint, Michigan on December 1, 1916 and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life. She married Ivan Frownfelter on November 25, 1937. She was a member of Riverside Tabernacle and had taught Sunday School for 67 years at several area churches. She was blessed with many gifts, among them were her ability to mentor, counsel and her unmatched love for people. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she had a gift for making everyone feel special. Her love of her family was only surpassed by her love for the Lord. Mrs. Frownfelter worked briefly at AC Spark Plug Division during World War II before working as office manager for Atlas Employment for many years. Surviving are husband of 66 years, Ivan; 2 sons, Bernie and wife Jane of Grand Blanc, Reverend Van and wife Diane of Mattoon, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Dan (Kathy) Frownfelter of Goodrich, Dave (Sue) Frownfelter of Flint, Dr. John (Wasan) Frownfelter of Huntington Woods, Joy (Travis) Spencer of Mattoon, Illinois, Amy (Sean) Carrington of Oakland, California; 7 great-grandchildren, Chad, Aubree, Megan, Isabella, Colton, Rebekah and Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxwell and Sarah Graham; and brother, Bill Graham.
