I remember Maxine from our undergraduate days at Willimantic
State Teachers College. She was person of boundless energy and optimism. She was involved with teacher organizations even then.
I am so sorry to learn of her passing, my sincere condolences to her family and to all who loved her. She will be sorely missed.

Although Miss Rothe wasn't my third grade teacher, she was certainly known and beloved by all the students at Lake Street School. Later in life I enjoyed seeing her and chatting with her when I worked at RGH. I recall how happy she was when she became Mrs. Schortman. My sympathies to her family. Miss Rothe was special! Sincerely, Kathy Lisk Dixon
