Thiel, Maxine C. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Maxine was called home to her Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at the age of 79 years. Loving mother of Jeff (Cindy) Thiel, Jacki (Glenn "Hunz") Piller, and Jon (Kelly) Thiel. Proud grandma of Natalie, Haley, Connor, Ryan, Collin and Lauren. Step grandma of Shaun (Lisa) Piller. Step great-grandma of Kaeden and Katelyn Piller. Sister of Jerry (Joey) Reik, the late George and Doris Reik. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the funeral home 1PM until the time of service at 3PM. Reception to follow. Private family committal services. Memorials to Franciscan Woods appreciated. You are greatly missed and will be in our hearts forever.

Dear Jacki, Jon, Jeff and familes -
I was happy to see "proud" grandparent as that was so true. The cards Maxine sent us over the year included many wonderful comments about her family and we appreciated the pictures and updates. She lived for you all and were so proud of you. We are sorry that your plans of bringing her up our way never were able to materialize Jacki - but you were a source of connection, hope, love and compassion for sure.
