Maxine Thomas, age 88 years young found her joy in the morning on January 16th, 2021 as Jesus wrapped his loving arms around her and took her home as her husband and son were waiting at the door. Yes… it was a shouting time in glory as she was told to enter in---THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT. She based her Christian Walk on Psalm 96:10….BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD. She knew everything was going to be alright because she was a KING’S KID. SHE TAUGHT HER CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN BY EXAMPLE. She would correct you in a heartbeat if you can’t say nothing nice …say nothing at all. She made it her goal to be a servant to love God and loving others. Her greatest gift of love to her was family. She believed if you had Good family you were BLESSED. Her daughter wants you to know she died in Faith with dignity and a peace that passes all understanding. We may have lost our praying mother and grandmother but we will never lose the treasure of prayers she put before God for us. And that responsibility is now ours. The legacy, the heritage, the mantle is now passed on to us.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Spence, mother, Allie Spence, two sisters- Alma Grimes and Bennie Schofield, one brother, Ebin Spence and her husband Holley Thomas and son-Ebb Thomas.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Spence and brother, Johnny Spence. She is also survived by her daughter, Marilyn Haney and son-in-law Danny Haney residing in Paxton, Florida, 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
