JOHNSON, May On November 22, 2010. (nee Hultgren). Born on June 29, 1955, with much sadness we have lost our sister, aunt and friend. After a long period of suffering from CIDP, May has left us for a better place. We, who loved her dearly will never forget what a good person she was. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City and graduated from Gloucester City High School in 1973. Before being forced into disability retirement, May worked as a Billing Administrator for several doctors. She was a member of the Gloucester City Women's Pool League for many years and was a great player. May loved the slots in Atlantic City and was a Sixers and Phillies Fan. The family thanks her main caregivers: her sister Cass and niece Donna for all the care and time they spent with May. Also, an extended thank you to her "Best Friend" Loretta Turner. We would also like to acknowledge the great amount of time and help Lighthouse Hospice gave to May. Without this help it would have been impossible to have her at home. Survived by her beloved sisters, Mary Ann, Tippy, Cass and brother-in-law, Bud. Cherished nieces and nephews: Donna, Sam, Dana, Mike, Jen, Dave and special nephew, Eric Revelli. Also, many grandnieces and grandnephews. Special friends, Loretta, Barb, Linda and Norma. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her visitation on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Celebration of Life Service at 1 pm in the funeral home. Interment with her late parents in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Gloucester City will be private. No Evening Visitation. Family requests memorial donations in lieu of flowers to Lighthouse Hospice: 1040 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Please write in memo: May P. Johnson. Not sure what to say?

May Pearl Hultgren, I miss you still to this day. I just thought of you last week. I was complaining about my old 69 yr old body's aches and pains and thought.... How I wanted to call you and compare ailments. And how you would have loved getting to be 69 yrs old... you were robbed May. I hear Janis Joplin on the radio and think of you. We shared our deepest secrets, and laughed a lot. I miss you more now that I'm getting older and need an 'old' friend, someone who knew me back when. See...

I met May in Elementary school. We clicked. We were always together in the halls, in class. We shared little girl secrets and after spending all day in school together, we talked on the phone til bedtime. We went to Prom and Class Reunions together. I have a pic of us at Prom on my dresser. She told me about her illness from the beginning, we couldn't figure it out. MS, MD we just didn't know. Then she received a strange diagnosis, something we never heard of. We kept contact until we...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

May went from Cassie's little sister to an extended family member and she will truly be missed by our family. She and Loretta got in so much trouble together and had so much fun together that we still laugh until we cry at some of those crazy stories. Our fondest memory (although I don't think fond is the word Stan would use) was a few years ago when they said, "come down to the casino, we've got free rooms" wound up costing Stan $280.00 and a set of hub caps off our car!! All the free...

Although May and I lost touch through the years, she has and will always be a part of my life and memories. I remember meeting her for the 1st time at the little Hunter St School. We were in first grade together and of course all the years later til graduation. I loved May like a sister. Even though over the years, miles separated us, we still called each other and shared all our lifes' trials and joys. She was my best friend and will always be a part of my youth and memories, I've missed...
