Not sure what to say?

Hey John, when daddy passed I thought of how many military men and women he touched. I also had fond memories Of y'all in that group. What a wonderful group of people. I think of you often. Oh young love lol I hope you see this and if you would like here's my email if you'd like to catch up. [email protected]

I often find myself thinking about Maynard and still tell stories about the "Snake Pit". I learned so much from him that I´ll reflect back on his words of wisdom to me. John Mclellan

My heart felt condolences to the Cox family. Such fawn memories of a great man. Maynard took me under his wing when I was a young corpsman in the newly formed Naval Drug Screening Laboratory at the NAS. He introduced me to his wonderful family and made me welcome at the "Snake Pit" anytime day or night. I often still recall his stories which have deep meaning to me till this day.
Fair winds and following seas dear friend

My sincere condolences to his family. I first met "The Snake Man" in Jacksonville Fl. when I was stationed there in 1988. He came to the base and did a lecture/demonstration on rattlesnakes and other misc. biting critters. I used to buy his bug repellant when I lived there and what made me look him up today was a bee sting. I wanted to make some of his bee sting remedy. Very impressive man. The whole world owes the man respect and appreciation. Avery Parker, USN Ret. Willow Springs, MO.

I met Maynard many years ago in the Orange park ER, I was an employee there, what an impression he made upon me. Later I had the absolute prveledge of caring for his wife at Memorial Hospital. We have lost a true icon, rest peacefully, I still have his signed last book he gave ne that day, I will cherish it..

I'm glad it isn't too late to add a note. I have wonderful and fond memories of both Maynard and Gloria. My husband, Joe, and I were part of the Florida Crown Emmaus community in Jacksonville, FL where we served on teams together helping with the weekends and grew to love them both. One morning after Joe passed from this life to the Lords presence, I discovered a snake in my kitchen. I called Maynard and he and Gloria came over. We never found the snake but they calmed my fears and we...

This is very sad news to me. I just found out about his passing. As a hunter, Mr. Cox has been on my speed dial since I met him in 2007 at a Women's Hunt in Florida. I told all my friends if I ever were snake bitten on our many excursions to call the Snake Man in my speed dial. He was very passionate about his work. He will be missed. Prayers sent for the family.

Just found ovt abovt mr. cox' passing. he saved the life of my sister when she was 4 years old and bitten by a pygmy rattler. she is also deceased, but maynard gave us 35 year that we would'nt have had. he was one in a million. the family of jennifer fulford

I just came across this notice and want to express my condolences. Mr. Cox was one of those people who did so much to help us understand parts of our world often reviled and feared. He had a positive influence on a lot of lives and deserves the rich reward that he so surely has received.
