Not sure what to say?

When I think of Mr. Hilliard (as I have always called him even though he insisted I call him Stub), I think of someone who always made you laugh and he always greeted you with a hug.

As a mom, I am so grateful that he’s Tina’s grandfather. When he and Gram were on vacation they would take time to spend with their granddaughter. They would go to the beach, take her for a ride in the car, or just spend quality time at home with her. There were times he spent playing cards with...

I worked for Stub (just a few...) years ago when we were both in the warehouse at Ethan Allen. I remember his stories of arm wrestling events, grain-bag carrying contests, and deer hunting escapades that both interested me and made me laugh.

When I moved from up north to Essex Junction, of course our paths crossed less often. But during those times when we did see each other, it was as if no time had passed at all, and we picked up our conversation right where we left it. If...

When I first met Grammie and Grampie, I immediately felt welcomed to their family. Grampie always radiated warmth and a good natured outlook that was contagious. I also look back at how affectionate he was when he originally got to hold his first Great-grandchild, Delanee. While he probably hadn’t held an infant in years I was impressed how he looked like an old pro. Although we are saddened that he didn’t get to meet his second Great-grandchild, Caitlyn. Tina and I are really seeing that...

We miss and love you loads Gramp! I will miss your hugs the most...you always made me feel so loved and secure with your hugs. I brought Lanee and Caity to the beach the other day and was telling them how you and Gram always brought me there when I was little...they are such happy memories for me. I'm so lucky I had you for a grandfather and I will make sure Lanee and Caity know what a wonderful and amazing great-grampie they have. I love and miss you!
