My sympathies to the entire Sanders family. My dad, "Butch" Silverthorn, spoke of Maynard as a friend, classmate, fellow Jacket football player and Marine in the Korean War. He will be sadly missed.

I think I can make this statement and all who knew Maynard would agree - he was a legend in his time - his own man - and if you doubted that - well ....
