Reverend Maynard Dwight Smith

I just want to reach out to the family and say I was very privileged to have Betty and Maynard as my patients for many years in Healdsburg. I enjoyed them every time I saw them in my office. I especially liked the stories that Maynard told me of his temporarily leaving the seminary for some “inappropriate Marine type words” he used.
I liked to call him quiet, quiet, quiet and STRONG! Good man for many people. The country is better because he came back to the seminary!

We met Maynard 28 years ago. He married us in 1994. He and Betty became dental patients of mine and I got to see them every 6 months for 20 years. Maynard also helped celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary with us 5 years ago. He was a kind and gentle soul, and always impeccably dressed. I'm so sorry for your loss.

It was a great pleasure to know Maynard and Betty during what turned out to be relatively early in their retirement. I was pastor at a couple of small churches that they attended while fixing up their house at Timber Cove. Maynaed was always a deeply caring and well spoken person. I’m grateful that he lived so long and offer my condolences to the family.
