Chaney, MC "Mac", passed away, Monday, September 9, 2013 at age 89.
Loving husband of Ida F. Chaney (nee Hall) for over 65 years. Dear father of Allan Chaney and Sandra (James) Boyce. Dear grandpa of Angela (Tim) Gunther, Courtney (Brian) Toti, Brittany Cook, Phoenix Walters and Cheyenne Cook. Loving Papa of Zachary, Dylan, Erik, Piper, Calvin, Charli, Sadie, Ruby June, and Giovanni. Dear brother of Pansy Campbell. Dear brother-in-law of JT (Betty) Hall. Beloved uncle and great uncle and friend to many.
Mr. Chaney loved square dancing, sitting on the front porch drinking his soda, fishing, recycling, and telling stories. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Services: Funeral service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home - Eureka, 108 N. Central Avenue, Friday, 10:00 a.m. Interment Sunset Cemetery, Pacific. Although I never got the pleasure of meeting the man that gave a very special friend and lady life, I know you must have been a great man by the stories your daughter has told me.As you walk through the gates of heaven I hope your are able to still look down and walk with your family in thier hearts. Grandpa, I remember back when I was little you used to take me for rides in your truck around town telling me all kinds of story's and life lessons that i'll always remember. MC Chaney was more like my dad than a grandpa. He raised me and I have so many great memories of him as I was growing up: taking me out for ice cream (him strawberry, me vanilla), taking me downtown eureka in the back of his truck with my bike to air up the tires and then letting me ride the bike home by myself!, taking me to joe boccardi's for pizza and everywhere we went he introduced me as "Granddaughter number 1".
