McKenzie and I were friends in college and both moved to Portland the same year. She was a very sweet person and a lover of the natural world. I am very saddened to learn of her passing, and will plant a new willow along the McKenzie River in her honor and memory. Rest in power, queen

I did not know McKenzie but the beautifully written tribute to her life have a glimpse of her and a life filled with love. The sentence about the birds she assisted flying high and free is touching . I'm confident the beauty of her life and love will be with you always.
