Megan Carol Chaney
June 23, 1997 - December 13, 2014
Myrtle Beach
Megan Carol Chaney, age 17, passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2014 with her Mom and Dad by her side. Megan was born June 23, 1997 at Conway Medical Center and lived her entire life in the Myrtle Beach area. The daughter of Gary and Anne Chaney, Megan was a special needs child who had an infectious smile and brought joy to all those who knew her. Although her life was short, she touched many and will be forever loved and cherished.
Megan is preceded in death by her grandparents Robert S. Chaney, Elizabeth L. Clark, Thomas V. Clark, and Step-grandmother Bernice A. Clark. Megan is survived by her parents Gary and Anne Chaney, Grandmother Norma Chaney and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to thank Megan's teachers, therapists, doctors and nurses for sharing their wealth of knowlege and giving Megan such loving care. Beacause of you, Megan was able to live a fulfilling and joyful life and we are forever grateful. Having a special needs child can be a challenging journey, but for us, a journey worth taking. We were truly blessed.
No funeral has been planned. Instead, a celebration of Megan's life will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made in Megan's memory to Habitat for Hunanity, 165 Co-op Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588 or Tidelands Community Hospice Inc., 2591 N. Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
