Megan Elizabeth Scanlon, age 20, of Blueberry Drive in Farmington, died unexpectedly on July 31, 2011.

Born July 21, 1991 in Dover, the daughter of Kevin A. and Deborah A. (Desmond) Scanlon, she resided in Farmington all her life. A graduate of Farmington High School, she served as Class President for 3 years. While in high school, Megan participated in many clubs and activities including volleyball and softball. She was inducted into the National Honor Society, a member of the Spanish Club and had been selected from FHS to be named NHIAA female scholar athlete. She was attending the University of New Hampshire, on the Dean's List, majoring in Occupational Therapy.



She was employed as a waitress at Granite Steak and Grill in Rochester and she had worked at her family business "LJ & Me" Coffee Shop & Laundromat in downtown Farmington.

Megan enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her niece Olivia. An avid shopper, she enjoyed girl's night out, snowmobiling with her family and boating with her family. Megan had a great passion for life; she had an amazing, beautiful smile and would light up the room.



She is survived by her parents: Kevin and Deborah Scanlon, her sister Lori J. Scanlon, Justin H. Seckendorf, and niece Olivia of Gonic, maternal grandmother Lorraine F. Synan of Somerset, MA, paternal grandmother Jean B. McDonald of Quincy, MA, godfather Robert H. Desmond, Jr. of Stoughton, MA and godmother Michelle Galuten of Randolph, MA, also many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfathers: Robert H. Desmond, Jr. and Maurice F. Scanlon.



Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church on Lowell Street in Rochester, NH with Fr. Daniel J. Sinibaldi, pastor, as celebrant. Still remembered and in my prayers

I know it has been a year since Megan passed away but I know the loss is still formost in everyone's mind. I worked at FHS when Megan was in school and got the chance to talk to her briefly. She was always and inspiration to everyone. May you be comforted knowing others share in your loss.

You were such a beautiful young lady. Bob and I were very honored to have met you a few years ago and get to know you, you always went out of your way to say hello to us and fill us in on what was going on in your life. We will never forget you. We will miss your beautiful smile and friendship.

I do not know you or your daughter either but in looking at her beautiful face, i can tell that she lit up the world.
