Not sure what to say?

David and his were my neighbor in Bixby Hills, LB. And my classmate, football buddy. His father would take us to his Holocaust museum many times as it was being built. Many fond memories of riding around with his Dad Mel in his 280z he loved so much, to take us boat fishing out at sea. Such a kind man. Oh I can't forget he taught me to enjoy Neill Diamond. Great memories, I hadn't forgotten. Will always remember my Jewish family across the street.

I just found out today that Mr. Mermelstein died months ago. I was very surprised and saddened by the news.
I never had the honor of meeting him but learned about him years ago and immediately got his book after learning of him. Mr. Mermelstein is a true hero for all people even if it's not said enough.
I hope after such a hard life he now has peace and will know endless joy.
My deepest heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends and others who have admiration for this...

Prayers to his family.

Mr. Mermelstein came to the small liberal arts college in NC that I attended - not once but twice. His first lecture inspired a group of us to petition that the course entitled "The Holocaust" be brought back into the curriculum. It was and was taught by a friend of Mr. Mermelsteins, Carl Geffert who had translated at Nuremburg. Mr. Mermelstein was an amazing man who made the Holocaust real for those of us in the younger generations. I will always remember him and the kindness he showed...
