Not sure what to say?

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Mel , always helped people less fortunate then he was, I had the pleasure of working for him 13 yrs. I still go to Platte Floral now and then, And expect him to come into the greenhouse, just to walk among the plants. It was his place to chat for awhile and chill out. May he always walk among flowers. Ginny

Dear Dianna,

I was a temp through Add Staff and had the pleasure of working there for several years during Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. I didn't you Mel very well but I do know he was an excellent floral designer and I also remember him bringing a young man into the back one evening and having him sit down while he offered him something hot to drink. I had the impression the young man had nowhere to go. I learned alot working there. The stories about him on here are...

So sorry for a great loss. Thank you for your years of making people smile with your flowers. My Dad passed 5 years ago and his flowers were from your wonderful shop. God Bless Mrs. Tolbert and our prayers are with you all. This should'nt have happened.

Diana My deepest sympathy on your loss , he was such a hard working man , I learned to be a better designer with Mel and enjoyed working at platte floral , he was supposed to live to 100 years old , always working around the flower shop on his flowers , always busy , never met anyone with so much energy , rest in peace Mel

Aunt Diana, So sorry to hear of Uncle Caps passing. May he walk in peace in Heavens gardens. He will be greatly missed.

Aunt Di, Uncle Frank, Uncle Dutch & Uncle Vern
Sending my deepest sympathies. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this time of need. Uncle Cap (Mel) was the one who took care of things rather it was the flowers for my dad's funeral or touching base with my twin. I am proud to be your niece.
Love, Peggy Tolbert-Munson

My wife worked for Mel for 13 years managing the greenhouse. Every time I saw him he treated me with respect and dignity. He was always kind and considerate of others. I praise Dianna for being strong enough to get through all of this and still being able to keep the business running. Dianna, my prayers are with you.

Mel was a wonderful man with a very big heart. My mom Becky seal worked for him at Platte Floral for many years. After her passing mel took my brother and me in to he's arm like a grandpa.I will always remember the great experience that I got to have knowing and working for him. My prayers go out to you Diana and family.
