Read MoreI worked with Mela at Reed for almost 10 years. She was dedicated, inspiring and loyal to a fault. She taught me to see through frustrations by seeing the best intentions and shared many salient truths about life. I will remember her fondly and am proud to have known her.

We always considered Mela like a second daughter. She and our own daughter, Kari, were inseparable friends for so many years and we loved Mela. May her memory be a blessing. She is truly missed.

I had the privilege of knowing Mela when she was a little girl. We were having a conversation when she was about eight and I have always remembered the priceless remark she made, "Men are such a convenience." May she rest in peace.
