Melanie Boelter

Melanie was my beloved daughter and my very best friend. As her mother, I felt she was special, but only in death did I fully realize what an amazing person she was. Her family and I are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from those whose lives she touched. May the light of her spirit shine into eternity. So say we all.

My heart hurts for the loss of such a special person. Having only know Melanie just shy of 7 years I can't imagine the loss felt by her family and long-time friends that helped to nurture her wonderful spirit. She accepted all equally as her friend. Through her wit, we shared some great laughs and through her intelligence, she made me look good at work. I am grateful to have known her for her short time here on earth. Melanie became a friend of my family while a student at UGA. She was always true to herself and kind to others. My sympathies to her family, friends and all who knew her.

I was saddened to hear of Melanie's death. I was her teacher last summer at SIUE and I found her to be a bright, insightful, and charming young woman with a bright future. I'm heartbroken and I send my best wishes and love to her family.
