I think I gave you a hug at Cleveland Clinic the night Melanie was life-flighted and my husband was there to receive a new kidney. Melanie and I went to high school together, and served as co-captains of the band's flag line. She was a great leader and motivator. I'll never forget the first time I went to her house and she showed me her Kurt Cobain "shrine." She was a great friend. Whenever I think of her, it makes me smile.

I am very sorry to just hear of this news. Melanie and I were very close friends in high school and enjoyed our time in flag line. She always had the biggest smile and the most graceful presence!
