Mrs. Bodecker was my 4th grade teacher at Rea Woodman. I always have remembered how particularly kind she was to a very poor girl in that class. One day when the girl was absent, Mrs. Bodecker explained that not everyone had the advantages the rest of us had & that we should always be kind to her. She even mentioned that people without much money are sometimes forced to eat a diet that can make them overweight. This really impressed me at the time and looking back I can see that this was one...
