Melda Ruth Payne Donehew

DONEHEW, MELDA RUTH PAYNE - our beautiful mother has gone to her eternal home, to be with her Heavenly Father whom she loved so much. She lived a blessed life of eighty-two years, instilling her Christian values into her family. She is the last of ten children born to Charles and Ida Perry of Rutledge, TN. She was preceded in death by sisters, Sallie Perry, Gladys Dalton, Betty Jo Peoples, Susie Dyer; brothers, Bob, Charles, Eugene, and Roy Perry; granddaughter, Christy Pack of Germany; husbands, Ulyess Grant Payne and Verlin Donehew. She is survived by loving children, Judy Chambers (Rife), Ronnie Payne, Carolyn Percival (Doug), Brenda Russell (Larry); grandchildren, Mark Pack, loving granddaughter, Melissa Houston (TSgt Ryan Houston), Ronnie and Brandon Payne, Bryan and Benji Percival of Breckenridge CO, John and Logan Russell; great grandchildren, Jaden and Landen Houston; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to niece, Geraldine Blair, for her compassionate care during her last years. Her celebration of life will be held at her childhood church, Sunrise Baptist Church, 255 Sunrise Lane, Rutledge 37861. Receiving of friends will begin at noon on Saturday with services to follow at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Bob St. John and special nephew, Gale Perry, officiating. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons. The family would like to thank Parkwest Medical Center, Covenant Hospice, and Dr. Jeff Robinson for their care during this difficult time.
