I meant to say a MONTH ago yesterday

It was a week ago yesterday that my mother died. This is, and always will be, hard to believe. She is and was a very special person and it is rare for words to fail me, but about her, they do. On my birthday, she became a mother for the first time. I will miss her smile, holding her hand and hugging her. It is difficult, but notes like the ones in this guestbook make this a little more bearable because we get to see how much she meant to the other people in her life. Thank you for letting us...

I was fortunate to be apart of a summer camp directed and taught by Mrs. Brown.
Those were some of my happiest days.
Music enriches our lives and so has Mrs. Brown.
My thoughts and prayers are with her and family.

Mother Brown, in perpetuity I will be awed by your moxie and endeavour to emulate your equanimity, dignity and grace. By example, you taught many it is essential to "LIVE whilst you live", and you have earned your rest. I will miss you, but never forget you. Au revoir, Michael W. Hargrove (Thea's father)

to view the writings is to know mrs brown led a creative and rewarding life. i admire her passion of music and the education of others.

I always thought there would be special place in heaven for teachers of young string players. Melissa's gentle way of sharing her love of music has enriched the lives of hundreds of students over the years. She was a kind and graceful lady. I am thankful each of my children had a chance to play music with her. Joanne Irwin

Mrs. Brown, as I knew her in the EJHS orchestra in the mid-80s, was marvelous. I will always associate her with Beethoven's 2nd and 7th symphonies, which she gamely had us play with the Hanover HS orchestra in a great orchestra exchange program. She also had Maestro Guigui guest-conduct our group, a great experience for all of us. She was a dear lady, a patient teacher, and I will remember her always.

My heart goes out to the family of this wonderful inspiration and teacher. She taught me to play the violin starting in middle school and throughout high school. I always admired her talent. May she rest in peace.
