DeVADER, Melissa Mary, 42, a native of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away February 16, 2008. She was a member of United Methodist Church. Despite battling breast cancer for 10 years, Mrs. DeVader completed and earned her teaching degree at Mary Baldwin College, and was employed by Henrico County Public Schools. She is survived by her husband, Trent A. DeVader; two daughters, Jessica C. and Rachel A. DeVader; son, Preston M. DeVader; mother, Lois Halpin Newton; sister, Elizabeth; and brother, Tim. She was predeceased by her father, David Newton. Memorial services will be at a later date.

I think of Melissa every day she was my friend and neighbor for years .Melissa showed me how to be strong and go for your dreams .I miss you so much but I know your a very strong and beautiful angel see you one day.

Melissa was my dear friend for the time we lived on Fern Ave. She and I spent many walks together and sharing mom stories - I did not know that we had lost her until just recently. She will always hold a special place in my heart and I know her children will miss her. She was such a great person! I know her children will draw strength from her and all that she was and insprired to be.

You were a wonderful lady.Always there to lend a helping hand.Always put others before you no matter how bad you felt.You will be missed.

Mrs. DeVader was a loving and caring person. I will never forget those days on her school bus! Everytime I seen her, she was always smiling no matter if she had a bad day or not. I will always remember you, Mrs. DeVader.

Your smile will be with us always. We will miss you dearly.

Melissa was a wonderful woman, very smart and giving! She is at rest now and will be a wonderful, hard-working angel. I will remember you always.

Melissa was a very special lady , she was a great mom and never gave up ! no matter how difficult life became .I will always remenber the great times we had together .
