Not sure what to say?

Intelligent, eccentric, wistful, bold. Melissa! We wrote copy together at Dillard's; she was my "big sister" then.Oh, how we would dream of our futures while rushing our end-of-the-month clearance copy back to the typesetter! Melissa wrote copy that sounded like a sonnet, then laughed as she crumbled it and threw it away. So endearingly Melissa...

Melissa and I have been friends since we traveled to France when we were in college some 35 years ago. We bonded deeply, sharing our lives with each other over the years. She was so much a part of my life and I am so terribly sad that she is gone. Melissa, I will light a candle and think of you often. Love, Diane

Melissa Mia Hall, Thanksgiving, 2008

Dear Melissa, I met you at my wedding to your cousin Kyle in Durant, OK in December 1995. I had no friends or family there. Even though we had just met, I felt comfortable with you and you became my honorary maid of honor. I loved your quirky southern gothic view of the world and your intensity about your work. I thought of you often over the years and with great fondness.

To a great script editor, teacher and moreso, prayer partner at trying times.

God Bless you Melissa. I know you are in heaven with the angels and our Heavenly Father.

Melissa was the sweetest person I know. her heart was too large for her own good at times. If she liked you, she was your champion and defender. Her talents were many. I will forever regret missing our birthday lunch. Michele

Melissa was such a nice person with so many talents and a gentle sense of humor. She always had so many projects going on and so many things she could do. I envied her creativity. Probably 30 years ago she took a photograph of me that ended up probably being my favorite photo of me. I purchased a very special frame for it and gave it to my very special Grandmother. My Grandmother treasured it until she died many years ago. Melissa emailed me this past Christmas because she liked the snow...

We got to know Melissa and her sister Melody through her two nieces Amy & Erin. Such wonderful memories of two great ladies.
Thinking of the family during this difficult time.
