Although I hadn't seen Melissa for 15 years, she was always in my thoughts and in my heart. She was and will always be one of my best friends. She was my labor coach and was the first one to hold my baby, who is now 16 years old. Melissa came bounding into my life at a time when I desparately needed a friend. The minute we met, I knew we'd be friends and that she was someone WORTH knowing. She taught me so much about life and myself. I would not be who I am today if it hadn't been for her. She was beautiful in so many, many ways. Her friendship has never left my heart and never will. I'm very sorry to hear about Melissa, last time I seen her was when Amanda was a few months old. I remember her as being a sweet young girl that took on the early responsibility of being a young mother. It's sad for me that my family and her didn't keep in touch. I hope and pray that all her family will someday find an inner peace within themselves and that her memories will make them strong for the rest of their lives.

It meant so very much to me to come out and mourn with our family and friends. There was no other place for me to be during this time than by your side. And, by hers.

Things will never be the same without her in this world, but it is a better place for her having been a part of it.
