I just heard the news. So many memories running through my heart right now. We first met in 3rd grade and somehow kept in touch all these years through our letters and later trains of texts back and forth a couple times a year. There are so many to share, fun and full of laughter. Sometimes we wept together, usually from laughter, at times movies and on occasion a serious moment.We shared so many crazzzee, fun, serious, worldly, personal truths with each other. Mel was one of our earliest and best friends on Instagram. We sent her the plush monkey Marvin when she was in hospital three years ago. The Instagram Plushie community loved her even though we never met her. She is an inspiration in how to live life to the fullest and spread joy to others. We always said we would visit her one day and we intend to do so. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Melissa was a very special person. A kind, sweet soul, who will be missed by so many of us. May her family and friends be comforted in the knowledge, that Melissa was loved by all who knew her. Sincerest condolences to her mother and father, brother, and family.
