To the Varadian Family:
Our deepest sympathy on the loss of Mel. He was a kind, caring, gentle fellow with a heart filled with gold.
We knew Mel from the old South Side Market he and his lovely wife had. It is where my mom and people would go not to just buy good meats but to have good conversation with Mel. He treated everyone well and was respected by all. My family loved him.
My brother Rick would stop in to see him every week and they would share stories of his latest...

Malcolm,
My condolences for the lost of your father. I read his obituary and some of the messages on the guest book and understand where you inherited your helpful trait. It has been seven years since I retired but I will always remember your kind assistance to everyone.

Dear Varadian Family. My Sister Donna DePalma expressed herself as she spoke from her heart, her condolences to your Dad Mal and that we felt more like his children than a friend. That's how Uncle Mal made you feel. At this time of sorrow we are assured that you keep his spirit alive and visit as he did the Memorial at North Burial Ground, the Armenian Genocide Monument. Mal took much pride each April planting the geraniums there. Rest in peace Uncle Mal.

My heart goes out to the Varadian family. I was so saddened to hear that this remarkable, humble and caring man has passed on. I was so very fortunate to have had the opportunity to know him. When it came to the AYF Olympics, he was everyone' father. Here was this caring and compasinate man who taught me many lessons not only on the track but in life. For me, he was a second father as I felt his warmth and closeness. What will always stand out in my mind was the race I had ran on a warm...

Mal will be so greatly missed. I always enjoyed his visits to the Greenhouse. He is now with his beloved wife. Rest well my friend. We'll watch over the flowers for you.

Our sincere sympathy to the entire Varadian family and its extended family of the proud Providence Armenian community.
Mal will always be revered as a true Nationalist, devoting many, many years of engagement and quiet leadership to the cause of his community and its varied activities.
Not much for visibility but substantial in deed, Mal was a true role model to follow.
This quiet man is an enduring hero and inspiration for young and old alike.
It is appropriate at this...

A wonderful,beautiful Armenian man..Rest well my friend.

Varky.

Uncle Mal, we will miss you! You are back with your wife again :)
