Not sure what to say?

He was a good friend . He helped me several times with my train show

He was a very dear friend he was a big part of my train group he made me several calendars over the years he will be missed

Back in my college days, Mel hired me to do bartending at the ole Tabard Inn. It was an exiting time as the university was close by and all types of students would patronize the Inn. Wild and crazy times were aplenty and Mel was usually right in the middle of it all. im sure youll be good management material in heaven Mel!

Mel was a good buddy at Whitmer HS and the early days at University of Toledo. Then we lost track of each other. We found each other again on Classmates a few years ago. We enjoyed talking politics and sharing funny cartoons. I will miss his enthusiasm for life.

I enjoyed working with Mel at the Campbell Soup plant in Napoleon, OH over his entire career there. He had a great sense of humor and a memorable chuckle!

Mel was a dear friend of my wife's during U of Toledo days and would visit with us in Dayton during several of his visits to the HamFest (radio). Loved talking with him on any number of far-ranging topics: trains, computers, beer, food, music, gardens, philosophy...

My sweet dear friend who was always there for me when I needed him the most. Especially calling for directions when I would be lost in Toledo. The memories we share with get together at friends houses or at clubs, buying a case of thin mints Girl Scout cookies every year from my daughter and coming to my house dressed as Santa, long chats. A friend I will surely miss and dearly love.

Mel, may the gods welcome you with a full pareade of chariots. Rest on your laurels, my friend. Vahalla is your trainyard now. All hail, Odin!

As a past member of the Bavarian club I definitely remember Arndt cozyed up to the bar telling and sharing what ever the persons knew club I definitely remember Arndt cozy up to the bar
