Not sure what to say?

My family and my brother Steve were finally able to go to Oklahoma and put our father to rest. We were delayed due to the pandemic and then some other family health issues. Rest in peace Dad. We all love you.

There was a nice mention of my mom and dad, Mel and Barb, in the Moraine Valley Foundation Annual Report. I miss them both everyday.

John, Just wanted you to know the family still gets updates on this page and we have read your wonderful post. Thank you. I'd give anything to have seen the Mel Halloween costume and impersonation! I had a roommate (Bill Cramarosso) who was in my Dad's program while we were rooming together. He had a number of student parties so I had the unique opportunity to be present for some situations that are similar to what you describe. It was very interesting for me, and a hoot!

Mel was one of my 2 instructors in Moraine Valley Community College's Radiologic Technology program. The other was Kay Heidkamp. I started the Program in 1973, attending both the main campus and the Lownik Building near Little Company of Mary Hospital. I have nothing but fond memories of my time in X-Ray, our trips to Uno's, drinking pitchers of dark beer at Gaslight and going to Branding Iron for some ribs & donut holes after our Registry test. I even remember my Registry number - 122456. ...

Can't believe it's been a year. He may be physically gone but what remains is the way he made you feel, always welcomed, such a warm heart, both he and his late wife Barbara. Such good memories.

I am sorry for your loss. It is a very handsome picture of Uncle Mel. Life is just so short.

So sad to hear about Uncle Mel´s passing. He was a wonderful man, and I enjoyed the visits and smiles that we had together. I wish we would have had more time to get to know each other. I am grateful for the conversations and emails that we shared. He will be missed by me and many others.

My Dad ... he was a Teacher, a Professor... he was my Mentor. My Dads devotion to his chosen profession of Radiologic Technology sparked a curiosity in me. I followed Dad down this professional path and it was wonderful to have a Loving mentor along the way. As I studied, he was always willing to spend the time to help me understand the complexities of this medical specialty. I will be forever grateful that he was in my corner and that he helped steer me toward a professionally...

I'm so happy I got to see Mel one last time before I left Tucson. He was always a joy to visit. A good man with a good heart. Over the years growing up I spent a lot of time at the Arthur's house. Mel and Barb, his wife, were amazing, so warm and welcoming. Just this year he was still calling me the nickname he gave me almost 50 years ago, Critter. One memory that comes to mind was from about 13 years ago. We were visiting Tucson, and having a cocktail at their house. We got into a long...
