Not sure what to say?

I just today 12-18-2009 learned of Mel's passing and am completely grief-stricken. Mel and I were dearest friends/kindred spirits throughout high school and college. He was always there for me, especially after my parents died right after my high school graduation. Mel was genuinely a sweet old soul with a quiet inner spirituality and a soft heart. I truly regret that I allowed time and distance come between us the past few decades. How I loved you, dear Friend, and how I very much wanted to...

To the Brown Family,
I am so saddened to hear of Mel's passing. I remember him as always there, quiet and forever smiling. He was a good person and a memorable part of my high school days.
Sincerely

Mel, I am going to really miss you! lots of love Cindy.

Mel,you were the greatest friend to me in college. You loved people and always championed the needs of the common man.All your friends and family are going to miss your charm and humor.God bless you.

See you at Buoy 54, my friend. May you rest in peace.

Mel Brown was a true friend in good times and bad. A real leader for "Pete's" softball team and a pretty decent 2nd baseman. Mel lived his life "in the moment" and always offered his help when anyone needed it. Mels passing hits hard and this truely wonderful person will be terribly missed.

Mel had many friends at Wilcox, 1990 - 1997. We are sad to hear of his passing.

Dear Brown Family,
I will always remember Mel as a star basketball player back the 60's at WHS. He always had a smile on his face. A fun person to be around. He always enjoyed Alumni Weekends in Woodsfield and we all missed him this past summer....Your family has my deepest sympathy.

Mel, my college roommate. He brought friendsip and laughter wherever he went.
