Melvin Lawrence Craven

Melvin was born on July 22, 1933 and passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Melvin was a resident of Texas at the time of passing. He attended Leander schools and moved to Austin for his senior year, graduating from Austin High School in 1950. Mel joined the Navy immediately following graduation in July 1950. The family will receive guests for visitation on Friday, January 5th from at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, Texas 78613. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018, at Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 6th at 10am, with Reverend Donald Lentz officiating. Interment will follow in Bagdad Cemetery, Leander, Texas. Family and friends are invited to continue the celebration of Mel's life at (to be determined) immediately following the interment. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
