Melvin Ellington

ELLINGTON, Melvin Cecil, 82, of Richmond, Va., passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010. He was born in Jetersville, Va., and was the son of the late John W. and Evie Ellington. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Ellington was a loving husband, a devoted dad and grandfather. He touched the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara W. Ellington; two sons, Wesley and Gary Ellington; one grandson, Gary Ellington Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Williams and Quincy Ellington; one brother, Rufus L. Ellington; devoted friends, Kennia and Carol Salyers; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 in the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
