I cannot express the warmth and friendship when I was in Mel's presence. I only knew Mel from City Hall during special events. Mel will always be in my prayers.

Dearest Bibi,
I can still picture you & Mel at Ellen's Birthday Party last December when we were all so happy together. How we all will miss him.He was my last connection to my Mother & Dad, but you were my Mother's dearest friend & I will always stay in touch with you. Scott, Alan & Karyn send you lots of love & hugs. They loved Mel so very much, especially Scott who is as overcome with loss as I am. We will miss everything about him - our dear, old friend. All my love, Barbara

Rest in Peace with Our God my friend, Bob Giers

I was saddened to hear of Mel's passing. To me he will always be the Henny Youngman of Boston, a true king of the one liner. Rest easy old friend

A true gentleman. We will miss seeing you around City Hall. they don't make them like you any more, Mel.

Mel you made work fun to be at and your freindship and humor made it a pleasure to see you every time I saw you over the last 25 years. I will miss you, but I'll never forget you.
