Not sure what to say?

Dear Peggy & Family:
I just received newspaper clippings from Linda Manus, regarding the "homegoing" of Melvin. We were your neighbors on Tilley Morris several years ago. (You and Melvin sold us the land.) My husband Jim went to heaven in 1994, and would have been just a few months older than Melvin. We always had fond memories of you, our home and the time in North Carolina, as it was our favorite location.
I heard Melvin speak at Franklin's crusade in Lexington and it was...

Mr. Melvin, as he was called by my four siblings and me, was a very big part of my childhood. He sold my dad, George Hunt, 7 acres of land right in the middle of his farm at the end of Reid Dairy Rd near Weddington in 1962. I will always remember Mr. Melvin riding his tractor with his hair blowing in the breeze. When he wasn't on his tractor, I would see him sitting in his Chevy truck, usually in the morning. As a little girl, I always thought he was sleeping. I found out years later that he...

Our hearts are heavy with the home-going of Melvin, although we can rejoice that he is now with the Lord (II Corinthians 5:8). We recall vividly our younger years when visiting with Melvin and in the Graham home on Park Road. Melvin's mother was Kitty's Sunday School teacher, and we knew the family quite well at Calvary Presbyterian Church. Our love, prayers and deepest sympathy are with Peggy and all the Graham family.

Ms Peggy, Deryl, & Mel:
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. Mr. Melvin showed his love for the Lord in all he did. He played such a major role in my life, my family's life and was a special friend to my father, George E. Hunt. I can't help but think they are catching up on old times.
Your family will always hold a special place in my heart. May the Lord bless you and comfort you.

He was Mr. Melvin to me. I grew up across from his farm. He was a good friend of my father's who passed 20+ years ago. I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Melvin's passing. He was a very wonderful man and loved waving at him while he was on his tractor. But he is in a much wonderful place now.

I have so many found memories of Melvin as we were growing up in Charlotte. I can remember going to their house with Peggy to play with Mel and his dad was always so great to me. He and Peggy have always been so important to my parents, Ray and Edith Shaw, and they have truly grieved over his passing, as we all have. But I know I will see him again in Heaven and that he is at home with Jesus right now.

I remember him from Calvary Presbyterian also, and his ready smile and...

Our hearts are heavy as we now miss the presence of Melvin in our lives. However, his influence, encouragement and love will remain with us forever. Our prayers and love are with you, Peggy, and with the rest of the family. We do pray that the Lord will give you the Peace that passes all understanding.
Love, Allan & Francine

The broad smile, the firm hand shake, the entergetic GOODMORNING. I will remember my years at Calvary Presby as a teenager receiving these every Sunday morning from Melvin Graham. God has his loyal servent with him to rest now.

My deepest sympathy to Peggy and Family. Melvin has visited and spoke at Bonds Grove United Methodist Church for many years, often referring to this church as his adopted church. He was such a blessing to me and I always looked forward to his being with us. He made everyone feel special and always complemented my music. (which I loved!) Melvin had a God-given talent for connecting with people and he used it so effectively in the pulpit. He was just a genuine good Christian man and I am...
