Not sure what to say?

I am so incredibly shocked and saddened to hear of Mel's passing. He truly was a force to be reckoned with. I was blessed to know him for a few years and he really was one of a kind. I will miss the chats Mel...... Rest in Paradise My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.....

I just learned of Mel's passing. He was a wonderful man. I will never forget him. My condolences to his family whom he loved and adored.

I am in shock and disbelief. Thank You for the years of friendship, memories of our trip to The Poconos and Florida, and the laughter we shared, "Hammer Down". You will always be in my heart. Fly High

I played for Coach at Curtis High School. He showed us how men were supposed to stand strong and stand together on and off the field. He was the one that made my nickname last as long as it did. when I made a play or helped the team to victory all I would hear was "Freight Train" being yelled across the field. it is a sad day when you lose someone so special. As he taught us in the Curtis fight song " stand up and cheer", and that's what I'll do to celebrate his life and memory.

Mel was one of a kind....met him in New Mexico in 1974. 42 years later can still say I never met anyone quite like him. Proud to have called him a friend and will never forget how hard he use to make me laugh. Rest In Peace my brother...."Three the Hard Way"

Mel. Just sitting here thinking about you, . I'm here now to keep Cynthia and your family in my prayers. My buddy I miss you tremendously.. You always had me laughing. When I enter the gym now it's empty without you and Cynthia, no matter how full it is . When I'm in the stores I'm looking to run into you both just to have a good laugh with you. Sleep in peace my friend. Miss you and I know I'll hear that laugh again soon.

In loving memory of Mel, a great man in many ways. It's very hard to believe you're gone. I am told that God only takes the most beautiful flowers, I have to believe you're
in a better place. Our puppy misses you and G-O too, he keeps looking at the door thinking you'll walk through, you were such a animal lover. God be with you you sweet man until we meet again

you have my deepest condolences to the family i remember melvin from earlier days great human being
