Melvin was my real grandfather I loved him so much it hurts me to see him gone. All the fun times we had on weekends is gone now. Even thow he is gone he his still with me. I would give any thing to see him again. And my grandmother is sad and it kills me to see her like this. I love Melvin as much as my mom, and every else in our family. All of you have a special place in my heart. Our friendship has surpassed 38 years. Melvin was a very dear friend. He was accepting, kind, family oriented, funny, and trust worthy. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Emory, Marion, Elaine and Hightower families, and Faye , this is a time to remember, that "To be Absent from this Body is to be Present with Almighty God." Melvin is at Peace, Praise God. I could see Mother Hightower, with her hair so gently gathered to the back of her head, welcoming him into Heaven, such a gentle women she was.
