Bennett-Brooks Funeral Home, Inc. - Port Royal Obituary

Melvin Tyrone Johnson, son of Christopher Blagmon and Justeen Mason, and stepfather, Cain Mason was born on March 27, 1985 in Richmond, Virginia. Melvin "RECEIVED A CALL FROM GOD", on August 24, 2016 to come home to get fitted for his new wings. Melvin is now "free." Melvin graduated from Virginia Randolph Community High School in June 2003. He completed his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training at Shippers' Choice School in Manassas Park, Virginia (VA). Melvin had a passion for driving all types of 18-wheeler big rig trucks. He took pride in his job and was always strong-willed, but with an optimistic attitude. We are humbled and grateful for his life of 31 years. It was an abbreviated life and when it was time for him to depart this earth, man said, "No" nonetheless God said, "Yes". Melvin now has peace, joy, and happiness with no pain to bear. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted grandparents, Francis and William Blagmon of Tappahannock, VA and the late Georgetta Johnson and Mozella Roye; two daughters, Alisa Johnson and Angel Johnson both of Richmond, VA; five sons, Melvin Johnson, Jr., Rushon Johnson, Justin Johnson, all of Richmond, VA, Jaxson Bryant of Dumfries, VA, and Kaeden Johnson of Richmond, VA; one brother, Gerrard Johnson (Tara) of Manassas, VA, and two sisters, Nakenia Mason of Richmond, VA, Christine Blagmon of Maryland; Special Auntie/Second Mom, Joanne Johnson-O'Neal(Percy) of Manassas, VA, godmother, Audrey Hatten of Richmond, VA; six aunts, Karen Anderson (Thomas) of Richmond, VA, Evelyn Cohens (Jaspers Sr.) of Woodbridge, VA, Wendy Hyman (deceased), Rose Ridgeway of Richmond, VA, Linda Davis of Richmond, VA and Lydia Hart of Petersburg, VA; eight uncles, James O. Johnson (Greta) of Bowling Green, VA, Samuel Scott of Arlington, Texas, Michael Blagmon of Colonial Heights, VA, George Clifton Mason (Denise), Abel Mason (Jo Lorraine), William Mason (Claudette) all of Suffolk, VA, Kevin Mason of Hampton, VA, and Gregory Mason (deceased); devoted niece, Grace Johnson of Manassas, VA, and two devoted nephews, Jacob Johnson of Chesterfield, VA, and Grayson Johnson of Manassas, VA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and devoted friends.
