My Uncle Melvin was one of my best friends for my entire life. He was 22 years old when I was born, and I remember my excitement every time he came to visit. During my teenage years, all my girlfriends had crushes on him. In my later years, following the deaths of my parents, he became my surrogate father and always-on-call physician. He was smart and funny, and we shared a view of the world that many did not. I will miss him more than I even know right now.
Rest in peace, Uncle...
