Not sure what to say?

I moved to Portland as a young lawyer in 1974. I remember Pete being a stalwart of Portland´s real estate industry from then until he passed! If he could only be here now to help lead Portland back to what it was then! He is missed!

Mr. Mark was the epitome of graciousness, gentility, generosity. I will always remember him perfectly dressed in jacket and tie, always polite and engaging. He was a mensch!

Look at that smile, it says it all about this man that lead and inspired not only his team at Melvin Mark Companies, but everyone he met.
As many can say "He was my role model"
Our blessings and prayers to the family during this time of grief.

The best experience of my professional life was the term of years I spent on the Portland Art Museum Board with Pete. His gentle, yet firm leadership was an example to all of how to treat charitable work as real work. His immense contributions to the Museum and the City of Portland will endure over time.

I was a kid when Pete and Mary became our neighbors. I grew to know them as a classy and committed couple - a team. Mary was my compatriot on the Good Samaritan Foundation Board and Pete joined her as a tremendous supporter of the hospital. Pete was the embodiment of optimism, enthusiasm and impactful philanthropy.

Pete was a leader and mentor for so many lucky people! His legacy is visible throughout our community. Loved him!!

Pete was always gracious and helpful to young folks entering the real estate profession. He will be missed

Pete was an extraordinary philanthropist, businessman, and a friend to everyone he met. He and Mary were exceptional people who helped make Portland an extraordinarily dynamic and friendly city. Pete was a great patron of the Portland Art Museum among many other non-profit organizations. He was invariably positive and he will be greatly missed.

Pete was my mentor and partner for ten wonderful years from 1969 to 1979. I couldn't be more grateful for what he taught me as a role model.

His philanthropy was infectious. In fact, Pete's whole being was infectious. He inspired people by his optimism and his commitment.

His family gave him the greatest joy. He leaves us children, their spouses and their children to carry on his legacy.
