Not sure what to say?

Still can´t believe Mel is gone!! Piece of iron in life. A friend to all that knew him. The garage looks so sad now, I still want to cry. He was a mentor to my son, friend to the entire neighborhood, and was always there when any of us needed him!! He remodeled much of our house, so I touch him, and think about him almost daily. Thank you Mel for being you, you will always be remembered. Shelly, and I love you, as well as of of our children. I will see you on the other side my friend. God...

I met Mel in 1967, when I was 16 years old. A few years later he became my brother in law. Mel and I did so many things together over the years. We worked on the job together. Raced and restored cars. We went hunting together and more. Mel was always busy doing something. Often times helping others. I never had a brother, but I regarded Mel as my brother. Farewell brother Mel. I'm going to miss you.

Those special memories or songs that remind me of our time together will always make me smile. You will forever be in my heart.....until we meet again. Love always

It's been a month since my Dad's passing. While not the same, I see him when the sun shimmers through the trees in the early morning hours, within the pinks and oranges of the evening sunset, and when there's a sudden gust of wind on a calm day. This reminds me that he's still with us, continuing to touch our lives as he always has.

Pap always had an arrow head rope necklace that I loved for some reason. He had it hanging on the rear view mirror in his truck and I would always ask about it. One day when he was sitting with me at the school bus stop in the morning he gave it to me and told me that he would always be there for me no matter what and that I could always go to him for anything, which he certainly lived up to. I felt so special having the necklace and I will cherish it forever. He had one of the biggest...

Dear Stevens family, Mel was one of the nicest people you´d ever want to meet. I was deeply saddened by his passing. I´m glad I had the chance to know him and am thankful that I can say he was my friend. He will be greatly missed.

I was so sorry to hear this. Yes Mel always had a smile and witty things to say. He will be missed. Now he is resting. Sending warm embrace to Marianne and family

So sadden to hear this. Mel could make anyone smile with his fun loving, witty personality. We always looked forward to talking with him from the days of him sitting at the table with my dad and Uncle Gene through Adulthood. No matter who he talked to he left a memorable impression. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Marrianne, Melanie and family. Sending hugs. Love Sheila Todd and Devin

Mel always had a smile on his face. I have so many fond memories of him. He always showed up to family events and we had a great time with him.
